MicroTex recently visited the team developing ultra-thin optical fibres for medical imaging, learning more about how these highly specialised fibres could help researchers and clinicians access parts of the lung that are difficult to reach with conventional imaging tools. The visit provided an insight into the engineering, fabrication, and research involved in developing these technologies, and how advances in photonics could support MicroTex’s wider goal of enabling earlier and more precise assessment of therapies.
