Patient and Public Involvement
At MicroTex, collaboration means bringing together different experiences, skills, and perspectives to improve how research is developed, discussed, and translated into healthcare innovation. We recognise that the challenges surrounding therapeutic development and emerging medical technologies require diverse and inclusive collaboration across researchers, patients, public contributors, and wider communities.
We are committed to working in partnership with patients and the public, recognising that their lived experiences and perspectives play an important role in strengthening and improving the research we do.
To support meaningful partnerhsip working, MicroTex follows the:
- National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) principles for Patient and Public Involvement
Our Involvement Approach
MicroTex supports long-term collaboration and ongoing dialogue between researchers, patients, and public contributors. Through involvement activities across the programme, we aim to create meaningful opportunities for participation throughout different stages of research and innovation.

Patient and Public Advisory Board (PPAB)
The Patient and Public Advisory Board (PPAB) will act as a central advisory group within MicroTex. The board will support ongoing discussion and reflection across the programme, helping researchers consider patient and public perspectives throughout research and innovation activities.
