Natalie oversees the coordination, delivery, and strategic alignment of the MicroTex Hub to ensure its success from lab to clinic.
Beginning her career in cardiovascular research, Natalie carried out a PhD in cardiovascular biology focusing on the role of the kidneys in blood pressure regulation before undertaking a postdoctoral position looking at in vivo renal sodium handling, both at the University of Edinburgh.
Since then, Natalie has moved into Project Management where she worked on the EPSRC Transformative Healthcare Technologies for 2050 project U-Care before joining the MicroTex team. She is passionate about interdisciplinary research and patient and public involvement and engagement within research.

Keith Finlayson
Industrial Partnership Manager

Keith has considerable experience in industrial and translational collaboration and commercialisation.
In a previous role, Keith was the Head of the Business Development team in Edinburgh Innovations, leading a pan-university team for over 10 years, with a personal focus on drug discovery and transformative bio-medical technologies.
Before this, Keith worked in industry for almost 20 years, including working with the Japanese Pharmaceutical company, Astellas, where he lead a team focussed on Alzheimer’s disease and neuro-degeneration/inflammation, covering bench to bedside activities from establishing in vitro high-throughput screens to conducting complex in vivo cognitive behavioural pharmacology. Prior to that he worked with GSK, focussing primarily on the role of inflammatory cells in lung disease including asthma.
Outside of work Keith enjoys travelling with his family and trying new food and red wine.
